from Mobil Travel Guide in 2006 and now for 2007, Chef Jonathan Cartwright and his team have yet again been recognised as leaders in exceptional dining excellence.

One of only 16 restaurants so honored in the U.S.

Kennebunkport, Maine, November 2006 - The White Barn Inn Restaurant in Kennebunkport, Maine, has yet again been honored with a 5-Star rating in the Mobil Travel Guide 2007. The Relais Gourmand restaurant, part of the White Barn Inn & Spa, is one of only 16 restaurants in the U.S. to receive the coveted ranking. This is the second consecutive year for the White Barn Inn Restaurant to receive this honor.

Widely considered the "gold standard" of hospitality rating systems, the Mobil Travel Guide provides travelers with the most-objective and -disciplined ratings for hotels and restaurants throughout North America. A 5-Star restaurant ranking denotes "one of [the] few flawless dining experiences in the country," according to the Guide. "They consistently provide their guests with exceptional food, superlative service, elegant décor and exquisite presentations of each detail surrounding the meal."

The Mobil Travel Guide inspects thousands of restaurants each year, with criteria including product, service and facilities that are reviewed in pin-point detail. The White Barn Inn Restaurant and Chef Jonathan Cartwright join such illustrious establishments as Jean Georges and Alain Ducasse in New York, Charlie Trotter's in Chicago, The Inn at Little Washington in Virginia, and French Laundry in Napa Valley.
