Chef Torsten Rumprecht of Head Chef at Parallel 23, The Regent Palms is available to participate in WBI’s Guest Chef Program April 23 – 27.
Torsten trained in Germany and has experience with a wide variety of cuisine types including but not limited to Regional American, French, Italian, Spanish, Mediterranean, Asian, South American, Caribbean, German, Southern, Fusion, Extreme, Heart Healthy, Live Foods, Atkins, Synergy Diet, Vegan, Vegetarian, Fruitarian and Kosher.
Many chefs have had colorful lives but few can match Torsten Rumprecht’s. Born into a poor German family, he has cooked and showed his talent in Germany, Austria, France, USA, Caribbean, South Pacific and Eastern Europe, cooked for and with; Donald Trump, Julia Child, N.SYNC, Backstreet Boys Jose Gutierrez, Herbert Poeckelhofer and Bruce Springsteen.
Chef Torsten is adamant, “Only the best products in season from all over the world! The menu must reflect what is on the market today and top quality seasonal products are essential in my cooking style.”
Rumprecht refuses to allow his delectable dishes to be pigeon-holed into the ‘fusion’ category, but with training in kitchens in four continents, including a two-Michelin Star restaurant in Austria, perhaps his eclectic dishes are simply the inevitable and rewarding result of a global education.
Torsten caught the cooking bug from his grandfather (a Chef in Germany) and entered his apprenticeship at the age of 15, where each summer he was sent to different culinary competitions to gain experience and show off his talent. His knowledge of fine food led to a TV appearance of Great Spas of the World from the Discovery Channel up to Guest Chef programs in Moscow, Russia.
